COVID 19 "Disruption" or "Opportunity"- Millennial Perspective

For most Millennials, COVID-19 may be the first recession one has felt its impact. Undoubtedly, you may be born before the 1997 Financial Crisis or 2008 Subprime but you may not have experienced that much of an impact.

This made me realise (and also supported by Economic Data) that there will be many more recessions in our lifetime. Hence, it is extremely lucky that we are still young and do not face the prospect of long-term unemployment compared to others. We should use this opportunity to enhance our skills (Beyond our curriculum) so that we remain adaptable and agile. With this crisis, it has given us no excuse but to stay at home and learn new skills. For me, I'm truly grateful for this opportunity to learn more regarding Marketing and Data Science which are sectors I highly appreciate.

Hence, instead of lamenting how unfortunate we are, we should celebrate this chance given.

And I wish to highlight that if we can, we must help out in Singapore's social sectors (Migrant workers, elderly, etc) whether by giving monetary aid or manpower. For if we are going to conquer this crisis, we have to do it as a country.
